Our Story

Started with a windowsill, a rolling pin, and a stubborn refusal to use shortening.

Wanda opened her first oven in Homosassa over twenty years ago, right off Highway 19, with a simple conviction: if you're going to bake, do it properly. Real butter. Real fruit. Real time. No shortcuts, no preservatives, no apologies.

What began as weekend orders from neighbors quickly grew into a destination. People drive from Ocala, Crystal River, even Tampa, just to get their hands on a slice of her legendary key lime or a warm cherry cobbler fresh from the tin.

Today, Wanda's Windowsill Pies & Cakes remains exactly what it was on day one—a small kitchen with big flavors, where every pie is hand-filled, every crust is cut by hand, and every customer is treated like they just walked through the front door of a friend's home.

We buy the best we can find—local eggs, Florida citrus, European butter, fruit from regional farms.

Prepare

Every crust is cut by hand. Every filling is measured, tasted, and adjusted. We don't follow packages—we follow instinct.

Bake

Oven temperatures are watched, not guessed. Pies go in early, come out when they're ready—not a minute sooner.

Serve

Warm cobbler. Chilled key lime. A cake that looks as good as it tastes. This is the part we live for.
